Course Description
World Geography is a college survey course that examines the world region by region. This class examines the implications of global location and topography for the people of planet Earth. Students will explore how geography shapes the dynamics of human societies, with an emphasis on the geo-environmental, geopolitical, and geo-social phenomena that help to define the modern world. Geographic inquiry encourages questioning, investigation and critical thinking about the issues affecting the world’s people, both now and in the future; and inspires students to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world, their values and their responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet.
